I suppose my journey to Christ started way back in 1989. My wife Christine had been confirmed as having terminal cancer. Unfortunately she passed away in September 1989.
She asked me not only to go to Church but also get confirmed, which I did but now realise for the wrong reasons.
At the time I was a serving Police Sergeant and one of my colleagues, Dave Johnson who had been a Christian for a number of years. Very often over the years Dave and I would discus religion in coffee breaks.
I am now remarried to Cathy, a wife and soul mate. We were staying with Dave and Jan back in March 2007 and one morning I was talking about religion and life in Dave's study and he suggested that I start reading the Bible.
My life started then. I said my, I should say our new life started as Christians. Within two months we started going to Ichthus Community Church. Since then we have been lucky to have completed an Alpha course and at present doing a Freedom in Christ course.
On Sunday 5th October we were both Baptized in Exmouth and we are both still on a high. We both feel so different as we are now in Christ's big family. We recommend it to anybody who is starting out on the journey.
